Personally my 950 does great and has a longer screen which is very nice. I just bought the 950 a week before the T-1 was announced so I might buy a new ereader in a couple of years.
I also have a PRS505 as a backup and just bought and replaced the battery in it so it should be good to go if needed. The site I bought the battery from has a video showing you step by step and supplies the tools with the battery. Following their guidelines was very easy.

The unit I used in store had a much stronger flash than the 350 and 950 I own. The screen would go 'full black' during the flash for a longer time interval. On my 350/950 it's very quick, I barely notice it while reading, but on the T1 I saw in store it was much longer, almost a full second between page turns.
I say 'the unit I used' because I am hoping that was defective. It was so noticeable, I am hard pressed to believe they actually released something so... flawed.
But yes, I do agree, strong flashing means less ghosting. There is some happy medium there, I guess this is not it - not for me, at least.
I want a new reader, so I will try to check it out again. Probably will stop by my university store and see if they have any on display in a couple of hours...
