I am looking more strongly at the new Galaxy 5.0 ($269 at Amazon) now. It also has GPS. There is also a Galaxy 4.0 ($229 at Amazon)

This makes no scene. You don't like the A1 because it has 2.3, but you like the Galaxy 5 which also runs 2.3--and is $70 more expensive and has a lower screen quality.
BTW if you need to have a 7" tablet with HC/Ice Scream pony up because they tend to have more capable hardware.
