Regarding sync. I tried it on my 350. It added all the stuff from the PC library, but left the stuff already on the device unaffected. Some stuff I had both on my PC and the reader - those items were duplicated.
Truly, you can't sync the stuff on the device. You can, however, download it to the PC (by using the 'copy to library' option on the 'books' tab, not from the sync tab) and then sync it.
But all the material to be sync'd has to be on the PC first, from what I can tell.
Sync, by the way, keeps freezing on me if I try to add more than 20 books at once. Which has already led to two hard resets of my device. It's buggy as hell.
