I always try to start a series at the beginning, but I've known to screw up on occasion and read a book that starts in the middle. In that case I'll go back and start at book #1, assuming I enjoyed the first book I read.

There are a couple of series, like Asimov's Foundation series that aren't so easy. Do you start chronologically in how the series unfolds or in the order the books were written?
