The eDGe does NOT need to be rooted in order to install Ermine. Do NOT unzip the file, just rename it update.zip

OK, all joking aside. I know it is frustrating but you can get it to work. Many other owners have experienced the pain and those that stuck with it also experienced the joy.


Are you using a USB thumb drive or a microSD card? Some owners who had no luck with a thumb drive went SD and it worked. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...emusan&page=13 (see posts # 183 and # 188)

Make sure the thumb drive is empty. Some USB drives have a proprietary bootloader that will interfere with the process.

Also, this is a very large file so did you try an alternated download? All of the download links in the Resource Sticky have worked for other users including the User modded Ermine which also does not require a rooted device.
