A London parish vicar thought that a spot of advertising for his church wouldn’t do any harm and so he erected a huge poster with the slogan:
“IF YOU ARE TIRED OF SIN, PLEASE STEP INSIDE.”
The next day, he saw written large underneath it:
“But if not, telephone Mayfair 72106.”
