I don't have a iPhone, but the error message seems self explanatory. The feature you tried to use from the device tab isn't supported for iDevices.

Again I don't have first hand experience. Most folks use the recommended method (Connect to iTunes) for transferring books to their iPhones. This Sticky post, Calibre + Apple iDevices: Start here, is a good source of information.
