Lost settings/corrupted cover when switching off

Looks like my Touch developed a weird problem.

I am not 100% sure anymore but I think this started after I upgraded to 1.9.11

Every once in a while when I switch the Kobo off (doesn't happen all the time) the cover image that is displayed is corrupted. Not all of it shows, sometimes I just get a blank display etc.
This wouldn't be so bad, but when I then switch the Kobo back on it seems to have lost all the settings. I am greeted by the setup screen and once I go through that and open the last book I read all my settings there are gone, too. I'm still on the right page, but the font, line spacing, margins etc. is all wrong.

My books are obviously still there.

Anyone else experienced this ?

Any ideas what's causing this ?

BTW My battery is still at least 3/4 full. I did have the bug in the past where the Kobo would switch off despite a half full battery though. Link
