Yes, I've been following the 3G thread. I'm not surprised by Amazon making this move, I was expecting it to happen eventually, so it's interesting to see the reaction to it. When I first got my K3 3G, I didn't have a smartphone, so that ability was more important than it is now. It's one of those features (or lack thereof) that will affect some people in a big way and others not at all.
The Fire is pretty cool, I just know myself well enough to know that I'd use it heavily for a week then not much at all afterwards.
Since Android can be installed on almost any machine, I thought it would be really amusing to install it as an alternate OS on the X-Tablet, not only because I do like Android but also because I think it would get some interesting reactions when people see Android running on that monster.
