It does feel harder to find books I'm interested in that can be bought with the discount codes. I broke down and used all 5 "oct2" codes on authors I hadn't read before and know very little about.
One odd thing happened, though. I bought my books Oct. 1st, but the email confirming my purchases from Kobo just arrived (Oct. 5). Usually, they email confirmation right away. It had me scared for a few days.
