Home - Settings - About - bottom of page 1. Mine says 1.0.00.08100. There has been an official Sony update since this one which I've never bothered to install. I think it was supposed to fix some sort of "page error" message when reading DRM'd epubs. I don't read these so I've never had a problem. Maybe someone else can help you with this one.

The majority of people have not had a problem installing PRSPlus -- the process is very simple if you follow the instructions -- you do not need technical knowledge. However, I guess the risk is not zero and you need to decide whether to take the plunge.

If your books have had their DRM removed and you use the free Calibre ebook management software, there is an option to insert a book 'jacket' as page 2 of your epub. This contains various metadata about your book -- author, title, series, year and comments (which can be a book synopsis or anything else you want to store in there).
