I've been using itunes since it was released. I've used it for playing music, loading my iPods and more recently adding apps and books to the iPad. It works fine on my G5, MacMini, iPad and the works with the work PC at work with windows 7.

What exactly were you trying to do that took more time than you expected?

For example. I can upload a book to iBooks or BlueFire, Nook, kindle etc in about 20-30 seconds. Uploading a CD can take about 45 seconds to a minute or so per track.

Here to help.
Ummm...the mouse and the GUI were not Apple, they were Xerox Parc. Xerox gave them away for free and Apple turned around and sued people over information that was freely given.

Hardware wise, Apple is a great company. They make some incredibly useful and well-designed stuff. I really like their stuff, but iTunes for Windows is not on that list. It's slow, often fails to recognize if my devices are attached, and has issues because I want to store my content on a portable harddrive. The other gigantic issue with iTunes is the help system which when I type in "device not showing up" found 103 entries for things like adding files to my device, installing iTunes, converting mp3s, but nothing on getting an attached device to show up. All I had to do was restart iTunes after it had been restarted after updating the software.

I needed to upgrade my iTouch OS to 4.2. This necessitated having to upgrade iTunes itself which necessitated having to upgrade QuickTime as well. The entire process took about an hour. It was just annoying.
