Obviously, when we break it all down into genres we won't hit 2 million titles. There are more available to search than that are categorized. This applies to Amazon also.

And neither let you separate out the public domain. So I couldn't determine how both companies determined their total numbers. But neither company is forth coming in listing their free and public domain titles.
