Agree it's mostly a preference thing but it's seems if you look at newest stuff like the Ipad or tablets there is no keyboard or barely buttons so they are on their way out it seems though I can't imagine typing an essay or novel on one.
However it seems the new Touch 3G will have a downside that my K3 with 3G doesn't have. No 3G web browsing other then Amazon's store and Wikipedia.

Well considering the button less interface segment is absolutely dwarfed by those products with buttons (mobile phones, PC's, Notebooks etc) worldwide sales, I don't foresee buttons as a input going away nor do I think taping a piece of glass/plastic is all that grand as a serious input interface. Pros and Cons.
I can appreciate those who would still prefer the Kindle Touch to have bezel buttons. Would have been an easy addition, and they could have just allowed you to disable them in software if you preferred touch only. Seemed a little unthoughtful after conditioning their users to one approach.
