I'm about 99% sure I got the quote correct, so I'm going to go ahead and post a new one.

This is from one of my favorite books, and the novella won a Hugo in 1992. The novellla was expanded into a book and was nominated for a Hugo but didn't win. I especially like the story because it seems to argue in favor of an Ayn Rand view of the world, but the ultimate point is just the opposite of the Ayn Rand viewpoint. Nevertheless, the author does so well at telling a story about the strong and gifted vs. society that even Rand supporters still like the book.
