Great Info, I was in the US Navy and Did a lot of reading while I was deployed.

We worked 12 hrs on 12hrs off 7 days a week, once you get off your shift eat chow,
take a shower, and write a letter home to your loved ones you would get a bit homesick.

Being able to read gave you a bit of escape from it all and provided some comfort.


For those who have have never been deployed you may not know how lonely it gets.

I received a Christmas card while deployed from someone who I never had the honor
to have met, it contained a $1 bill with Santa's Picture on it. After 25 years I still
have it. It meant the world to me to know someone back home remembered us.

The little things you do for them will be remembered and cherished for years.
