I'll forget that I got a subsidized product once I'm convinced that I have one to begin with.

Columnists/professional bloggers writing about a subsidized Fire as if it were an established fact when there are multiple, contradictory cost estimates from "experts" is the same as lying. Either that or it's a result of journalistic incompetence. Take your pick.
