The K4 is so small and light and the back so "grippy" that you do not have to hold it in place with your thumb. Just place it in your palm so that your thumb is in a good place to press the next page button.
For some reason, I can do this more quickly with my left hand than with my right hand. Neither is automatic or natural yet. It may work out that the buttons are exactly like they should be, but my hands seem to want to push down from the top or directly from the side. Neither of those work, it has got to be at about a 45 degree angle.
Holding with both hands, turning pages feels natural right off the bat, as does using the K4 flat on a table or desk.
