OK, I just Googled Figolu and they are (still, I think) made by a French company called Lu, so I guess they're not the same as fig newtons. I'll have to taste fig newtons next time I travel to the US! Or do they have it in England too? Or maybe France... I don't exactly visit that section very often at the supermarket.
