Again, agree with your main point, I would not want any ads at all on mine, but that's not intrusive and won't affect your reading session whatsoever.

Sure you would. What is the use case when you want to read a book? You go to pickup your "book" to read and what's the first thing you see? An advertisement on the book cover.
Seems most people don't have a problem that, but I personally don't like to forced to watch advertisements on any medium so the KSO would not even be an option for me.
