They may have, but I don't think Neolithic man had evolved far enough to spin or weave. I always thought they just sort of wrapped hides around themselves with simple thongs (long laces rather than the designer wear...) Maybe they did use the sharp stones to poke holes for the laces, but that still falls under Use #1. We need 'Important Use #2.'
