I can't help you with your rastafarian problem since I don't own a Sony Reader...I can however say, that this forum is not only for geeks, I'm not that much of a geek either, can't do any programming and don't know too much about the technical side of Linux devices, but so far I have always found the answers I was looking for.
People are usually very nice, helpful and polite in here, if you stay patient and post your questions in an acceptable fashion, then I'm sure you'll get the answers you need. Using the search function and the wiki can also help...
