I suspect they will have a similar attitude about jail breaking. They won't go out of there way to encourage it. New software updates will not attempt to make old jailbreaks backwards compatible. But you won't see weekly anti-jailbreak patches.

Amazon is pretty much copying Apple's strategy here, and they certainly like a closed system-witness the Kindle.
Will Amazon be agressive about stopping rooting? Dunno. COULD they be aggressive , based on the idea that they dont wan't their device (which is most likely being sold at no more than breakeven) used to buy Google market apps , B&N books, and movies from Netflix?
Doesn't really seem unreasonable to me.
As always, you should expect Amazon to act not according to their public pronoucements (which are PR exercises) but in regard to their self-interest.
