I don't know what to make of those pictures. My Kindle is not faded out like those pictures seem to show. It's as sharp or sharper then my K3. I guess it's a lighting trick in the photo.
Edit: give me a second i'll try to do a fair comparison of a book cover with each kindle on either side..
