I agree with you! For U.S. buyers, each Kindle model (except for Kindle Fire) is offered in two versions: one with ads and one without. This makes 11 different Kindle models to choose from!

I'm all for choice, but this many models does make selection very confusing, especially when you have such similar price points and need to also consider the feature differences between models.
