Sorry, if this is in the thread somewhere...
I was wondering if anyone knows what this means in terms of operating expenses for libraries? Do libraries now purchase both EPUB and KINDLE versions of books (along with dead tree)? If so, they must pay Overdrive (or whoever) a fee as well. Since e-books are non-transferable, does the library keep them forever?
Or does Overdrive (whoever) own the books? And lend the same paid copy to multiple libraries?
I imagine libraries have enough budget issues. Now they need to support books in 3 formats...
