The place where I have seen the most e-readers in the wild is the gym. I know that's weird but I see quite a few people, usually women, reading them while on the elliptical or treadmill. I use it at the gym myself sometimes. I haven't really see any on mass transit (but I live in NW Ohio so maybe a of transit users just don't use them) or even bookstores.
