I buy vacuum sealed bags of whole beans at the store and keep them in the freezer. I only grind enough each day for my 4-cup pot of coffee. I blend a mix of 2/3 decaf and 1/3 caf to make the batch. I buy fairly high end stuff, about $10/lb.
