The T1 was put out by Sony to compete with the existing ebook readers. Sony wants more people to buy the reader, thus more people will be ebooks from their store. This is were the money is. Now you have to sell the package. You have to have a cheap ereader, plus a good online store - this is were the money is being made. As for the product, I prefer the quality and finish of the Sony PRS350 or the 650. I am willing to pay more money for a better quality product. Interesting, I think the ereader technology has hit a plateau for now. You don't see anyone coming out with a better screen or quality ereader compared to the x50. This is a testament to how good Sony made the previous ereader.
