May I ask why you are only considering the Sony and the Kindle? Why not the Gen3 which is (IMHO) a device that's superior to either?
It is, for example, the only one of the three which allows you to load your own fonts - an extremely valueable facility. It also has excellent dictionary lookup facility, with a choice of hundreds of different dictionaries available.
