I like social commentary, comedies, fantasy, ripping yarns (to a degree), domestics. My fave 19th century writers are Trollope, Dickens, Austen and Alcott; I've dipped a toe in Gaskill and Hardy and intend to dip further.

I dislike horror, though I've absorbed enough Lovecraft over the years to get all the jokes. "A Shoggoth on the Roof," forsooth!

I've read Verne and Wells extensively, though mostly as a girl. I have not read Balzac. I've attempted the Russians but was beaten back at St Petersburg.
