Correct. The arabic for 'listener' or 'hearer' is "saame3." The word for reader or reciter is Qaari. The first word of the Qur'an to be revealed was the command "Iqra'" which can be interpreted as either "Read!" or "Recite!," with some scholars taking each opinion (or both, recognizing that the Quranic text has multiple levels of meaning).
