Cracked it - I think....
My mistake was not being logical ! [Not a first.... ]
When I started the d/load, up comes the "where too, then" bit , automatically showing Reader , Adobe, and Others.
BUT below it says "Save file ?" Yes, of course !!
The d/load window then shows it being d/loaded, and I can then Rt click, Open containing folder, drag&drop highlighted file... to... CALIBRE !
Duh....
Now to transfer to device - left reader in car, of course, shows how confident I was.....
