All eDGe hardware is capable of supporting the upgrade. What I was referring to is that the components used to make each eDGe and any electronic device for that matter are massed produced and some will fail. While it is usually a relatively low percentage it happens never the less. Let's say Entourage sold 100,000 eDGe with a 0.5% expected failure rate in the first year. That's 500 units that the company expects to fail for some reason or another.
The decision to upgrade ultimately rests with the user. However, I can assure you that there are thousands of users who have upgraded with no problems. Besides, think about this. Extensive testing is usually done by any company before it releases a firmware upgrade to the general public. No company that is looking to stay in business is going to release a firmware upgrade designed to destroy their product. Usually, as in the case of Entourage, it's not the technical folks that destroy the company.
