Try the following, it will start you out with a frshly rebuilt calibre configuration directoy which all of your other attempt to uninstall and reinstall did not do.

Start calibre, go to Preferences - Miscellaneous - (click on) Open calibre configuration directory. Now exit out of calibre (Ctrl-q). Rename the configuration directory to something else.

Start calibre, you will have to point it to your library directory (the directory where your metadata.db file is located.

Hook up your device and cross your fingers.
