OK - now for something completely different.

Sunset Boulevard, Billy Wilder's classic 1950 noir film, is one of the most highly honored American films, and the source of many unforgettable lines. Writer and producer Charles Brackett maintained that he and Wilder never considered anyone except Gloria Swanson for the role of Norma Desmond. Wilder disagreed, and the casting history of Sunset Blvd was quite convoluted.

1. What pairings of actresses & younger actors did Wilder consider?

2. Swanson was nominated for an Academy Award in 1950, but lost to whom?

3. In those pre-CGI days, how did they film the corpse of Joe Gillis (William Holden) floating in Norma Desmond's pool in the film's opening scenes?

Stretch those classic Noir movie memories!
