On the 950 what does the cover in the book look like? Does the cover in the book stretch on the 950? Was calibre involved in setting the cover in the book? If it was, try an experiment and convert a epub with the Preserve cover aspect ratio checked in epub output then delete the book and send it anew to see if it makes a difference.
