PDF files and 6" screens simply do not work well together (assuming that the document was formatted for an 8.5 x 11 page). PDF is really an output format, not all that appropriate for ereaders. If the documents are simple text, it would be easier to read them if you convert them to .mobi format, using Mobipocket Creator or Calibre.
