Gave up, and got a Nook Simple Touch

Although I really wanted to like the KT, and was a huge fan of the form factor and light weight, I just couldn't deal with it anymore. The ios sync issues were a pain, and the time it took to get to a footnote in the 1100 page book I'm reading, and to get back to main text, was glacial. That, combined with the lack of a search feature, did it for me. Getting lost in an 1100 page book with no search ability or "go to" feature is no joke.

The STR is MUCH more responsive; switching is nearly instantaneous. I do miss being able to add fonts. The BN pushing of suggested reads is obnoxious, but the bookstores themselves are about the same. I hope kobo can get it together with its software. I'm really pulling for them, but life is short to mess around with an ereader this much. "Infinite Jest" isn't going to read itself!

I'm selling my KT if anyone is interested.
