Hi! My sister got me a Nook!

Maybe my sister reads this forum even, I don't know. I googled some question about Nooks and this popped up, and there was this thing that said I should register, so I did. And then something said I should post an introduction, so I am!

I am 41, or 42 soon, and have two daughters, ages 9 and 2. I would like to get the 9-year-old a used or refurb Nook at some point as well so her room can stop being decorated in the style of "books not yet put away."

I'm not always into fiction, although I have liked some best sellers like Water for Elephants. I looked at the free books listed on B&N and not much of that looks even vaguely interesting. I suppose I will have to buy most of my books, but I was buying them before anyway and then having a hard time figuring out what to do with them or where to put them when I was finished reading. So I guess I'm ahead of the game if I don't have to find a shelf to store them.

Apparently the Nook I have is a newer kind, that is just black and white and smaller than the old b/w one. I have an iPad and a color Nook seemed redundant, but I can tote this little one around with me and use it outside, and it should be easier on my aging eyes.
