Mmm, that's a good point that I had not considered. The functionality would certainly be there to edit posts/chapters, but that doesn't help if the reader has already read it. Or if you have drastic plot changes.
Perhaps the entire system would be more useful for publishing short stories as you mentioned, creating stand-alone pieces that can later be compiled into anthologies. Readers could then compile their own, personal literary journals by mix/matching authors they like.
