I might risk spray painting it just taping off the screen if it weren't for the keyboard. I wouldn't want to spray the keys and make them unreadable and I'd worry that the paint would get in through there and mess stuff up. I think I would feel more comfortable removing the housing to paint, but then I'd end up with a dark Kindle with white keys which might be functionally better (the white case wouldn't bounce so much light back reducing the contrast) but might be rather funny-looking. Of course, I'm a Kindle owner. So that already says I prefer function over form, I suppose.
