Re: Landscape mode: you can do it, but it still makes things smaller as the screen is not as tall as most pdfs are wide. I found it personally pretty unsatisfactory but YMMV. Note that some e-readers can't do PDF in landscape mode, although most can. (One that can't is the Nook STR, unless you root it and install different programs).
