Including the word "sample" on the card was probably cost prohibitive. I understand that Apple has the copyright on the letters "a-p-l-e" when they're all present in a single word.
I picked up the 'free' ebook card and then read about it being only a sample. I won't even start the book now. Glad I read about it only being a sample BEFORE I actually started to read the book.
