If I'm just browsing for random ebooks that look interesting, I won't pay more than $10, and it has to look awfully good to get me to go over $5. But if I'm wanting one specific book, I'll pay more. I have a few authors I am crazy about and I'll happily pay more for their work.
What I will not do, is sign up for a waiting list at the library. If I can't check it out right now, I'll either buy it, or skip to some other book, and maybe get it next time if it's checked in. There are always more fish in the sea, so why pine for the fish that are not in the sea today?
