I'd trust the date given on the product page (10/2) more than SonyStyle's ship estimates. They don't actually take pre-orders into account, so they always say it will ship the day of, or the day after the order is placed. I ran into this as well when I pre-ordered a PRS-900.

Mine says it was estimated to ship yesterday, so...
