Alan Moore's daughter did a great 5 issue Sherlock Holmes series. Paul Dini's Madame Mirage looks a little cheese-cakey, but was quite good. I also second the Fables rec. I add to it House of Mystery (the currently running one from Vertigo). I also reccomend Strangers in Paradise and Echo from Terry Moore.

ETA: my partner and I own more than 2,000 comic books, and those are just my favorites. I'll get her to weigh in on hers later today.
