Fortunately, Amazon reminds me when I've already purchased a Kindle book. However, one time I did purchase the same e-book twice—first, the .mobi version at Smashwords and a month or so later I bought the same book at Amazon.
Oh well. I just deleted the Smashwords version from my Kindle and moved on. I am more careful now.
