Keep your eye out for three quality 7" sub-$250 tablets to be available this holiday season:
- Amazon Kindle Tablet - probably locked down, unknown rooting capability
- B&N Nook Color - locked down, easy to root, and possibly 2nd Gen
- Lenovo IdeaPad A1 - full Market access, no need to root
These tablets should all have iPad 1 specs or better; which is more than adequate for most users. That keeps costs down and still provides a quality experience.
I'm very happy with my rooted Nook Color, because it gives me all I require in a tablet and at a big savings in cost - quality display, plenty of power and speed, and access to two app stores (Google and Amazon). I may or may not upgrade, depending on features. If I do upgrade, I'm open to any of the three I listed above. |
I want to check out the Amazon tablet when that comes out. Will have to check out the Lenovo. I like a 7" concept.
Which directions did you use to root your Nook. Can it be undone?
When you used the SD card did you do it yourself or buy one of the pre-made ones.
