Isis meets Wonder Woman

Hey, all! I'd like to introduce all of you to my Sekhmet's Light series. The first two books of the series are published and available while book three is currently in progress.

Book One, Akhet, introduces us to our heroine, Dr. Nicole Salem. She's an archeologist who, while on a dig in Egypt, learns that the ancient gods that she's studied do, in fact, exist. She's chosen by Sekhmet, the Egyptian goddess of warfare, vengeance, and other aspects, to serve as her avatar on Earth, known as NuruSekhmet (Sekhmet's Light). Gifted with a portion of Sekhmet's divine power, Nicole is charged with preventing Apep, god of darkness and evil, and his followers from rising to power.

Book Two, Peret, continues Nicole's mission. Comfortable now in her role as NuruSekhmet, Nicole returns to her hometown of Chicago where she realizes that things are not what she thought they were and that the battlefield is much different than she expected. She gains new allies, finds herself contending with forces both mystical and earthly, and coping with sudden betrayals.

The series would be a great read for those who like contemporary fantasy, strong female leads, superheroes, and Egyptian mythology.
